How Freemasonry in Japan Benefits Others
We donate money to charities and organizations worldwide, asking for nothing in return. We support dozens of charities in Japan, and specifically we organize festivals for orphans, children with special needs and the handicapped. We collect and distribute clothes to the homeless. A list of our major recipients is as follows:
Kyoto Eye Bank
International Ladies' Benevolent Society
Seeing Eye Dogs
Kunitachi City Handicap Athletic Meet
The Toy Library
Tokyo Communuity Counselling Service
Inochi no Denwa
Japan
Women's Temoerance Union
Nihon Social Welfare College Refugees
International Japan
Nihon Tenji Toshokan
Maryknoll Alcohol Center
Kobe Boys Town
Pearl S Buck Foundation
Salvation Army
Christian Children's Fund
and other disaster relief
drives, this is not a complete list as
Lodges also support charities of their own choice.
In 1999 we donated over 100,000,000 to these and other worthy causes.
We also help our own; Lodges regularly give to help a Brother in need or the widow of a Brother, for example, in 2001 a classical concert was held with the proceeds going to help a Brother's widow who was in dire need.
But there is more to Masonry that just giving away money.
